The JConcepts design team has spent many hours in development with leading team drivers to develop a high-speed style body, specifically for the latest circuits. One of the most recognizable items, the Silencer body style, has now been designed as the original manufacturer kit body for the Yokomo YZ4-SF buggy.

A brand-new, ground up design, the Silencer, has new elements created for the high speed tracks. A profiled cockpit and cubicle side-pod gives the Silencer an immediate fighting appearance. A smooth, high-speed transition around the cab keeps the Silencer heading in the right direction. A slight recess just behind the cab with channeling out the rear provides rear-end stability. The Silencer side-pods have a clipped rear-end, narrowing the rear by angling in just in front of the rear tires. The rear side-pods angle sharply toward the shock tower and wing, enhancing the force placed on the rear pods during high-speed acceleration.

The main pods are lightly chamfered front and rear allowing plenty of paint and decal access. The end result has the body looking extremely low-profile with heavy JConcepts edginess and appeal. The Silencer is capped off with a cock-pit “shark fin" for more high-speed tracking stability and increased roof stiffness. The package includes two, S-Type wings pre-marked for the Yokomo YZ2 and YZ4-SF for the easiest application.

Success on the track –
Ryan Maifield took the Silencer to the track during the annual Surf City Classic event earning a victory in prototype form. During the production release, Maifield once again had an incredible weekend at the 2017 IFMAR World Championships. Ryan scored with a breakthrough performance as he secured the IFMAR World Championship in the 4wd modified class utilizing the Silencer body.

Notes from the team –
After several race events, the JConcepts team has noted the back of the body has 2 cut lines to choose from. The most open cut line can change the performance or aide in the cooling inside the body. The more aggressive (larger opening) cut line is preferred on outdoor tracks or where ambient temperatures are really warm.
